In Coweta County, Georgia, Roberto Cardenas has been getting parking citations for cars parked around his property. The only problem is, he doesn’t own a car. But Cardenas has been so fearful that the HOA would put a lien on his home he’s paid the fines. In fact, Cardenas says it’s come to the point “where I just wanted to sell the house and finish this nightmare.” So far he’s paid $1,700 in parking fines, despite not having a car.… In Georgia, an HOA can put a lien on your home and file for foreclosure as soon as you owe $2,000.
