A "Wheel of Fortune" source: Vanna White may leave before her contract ends

Just a few short weeks after Pat Sajak’s retirement from being the long-time host of America’s famous game show "Wheel Of Fortune," with Ryan Seacrest set to join Vanna White as her new partner comes word that both co-hosts may be experiencing a hard time getting along.

According to an insider, Vanna might follow suit with Pat once her contract ends, as she does not see herself blending in seamlessly with Ryan.

Vanna reportedly is considering an early retirement to create space for a younger woman to take over and be to Ryan who she was to Pat. She is said to acknowledge that Wheel Of Fortune should experience a different approach with the younger generation, and her presence might cause a clash in times. The insider added that Vanna’s decision hinges on how well her first few episodes with Ryan are received by fans based on ratings.

Seacrest acknowledged to having big shoes to fill by taking over from the legend himself. He has faced both support and pushback on social media for his latest gig and has most of the fall to prove himself to anticipating viewers as a fitting co-host. But who would replace Vanna should she make an early exit?

There have been debates about Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak, topping the list. The 29-year-old has been working on Wheel Of Fortune as the social media correspondent since 2021, and once filled in for Vanna during a special last year and when Vanna filled in for Pat during his medical emergency. Maggie had auditioned for her dad Pat's spot as the show host, but ABC network decided to go with the seasoned reality TV show host Seacrest.

White was reportedly getting paid $3 million per year, and had not had a salary increase in 15 years, whereas Sajak was taking home a whopping $15 million, according to TMZ. She was one of the three substitutes for former Wheel Of Fortune hostess Susan Stafford who left in October 1982, becoming the regular hostess just two months later in December.
