Grammy winning R&B singer Roberta Flack is dead at the age of 88. Flack's career took off in the 1970s when her beautiful song "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was used in the Clint Eastwood film "Play Misty For Me." The song became a huge hit, which she followed by the #1 song "Killing Me Softly With His Song" later rerecorded by The Fugees.
Both songs won Record of the Year Grammy Awards a year apart--she was the first black artist with that accomplishment.
Her representative said Flack passed away this morning at her Asheville home surrounded by her family.
