A Wisconsin sheriff’s office recently used a drone to save three distressed deer that had fallen through thin ice on Big Green Lake in Green Lake County. Deputies responded to the incident and, instead of approaching the deer by boat and risking further distress, they utilized the drone to guide the animals safely to the shore. The pilot would fly it so the deer was between the drone and the shore, using the drone to rattle the deer as it approached, which sent them swimming slowly to shore
