2 Dogs And A Cat Rescued After Sticking Together On The Streets. Love this!

The Central Vermont Humane Society shared the touching tale of River, Rain, and Reed, three animals who were found wandering the streets late one night, never straying far from one another.

"Are you one of the many people who loved the movie Homeward Bound? Meet our happy little trio who remind us of that story of endurance and commitment to friends," the shelter posted on social media.

Once rescued, the shelter quickly realized the trio had not been receiving proper care for quite some time. With love and medical attention, River and Rain, the two dogs, began to flourish. Reed, the cat, remained distant—until the shelter reunited him with his canine companions.

"While River and Rain came out of their shells quickly, Reed the cat remained shy, and did not want to interact with us or the other cats," the shelter wrote. "Until….we brought River and Rain to his colony room to visit, and he lit up like a happy boy!! The three of them shared head bonks, muzzle rubs, purrs, and cuddling!!"

The shelter’s plea for a family willing to adopt all three of them touched hearts far and wide. Not long after the shelter shared the trio’s story on social media, a couple reached out to the Central Vermont Humane Society, eager to adopt all three animals.

"These three have met a very special couple, and today they will start a foster-to-adopt trial in the home!" the shelter shared in an update. "It’s important for all that these sweet souls are in the best environment for their needs, so we’ll give it a little time to be absolutely certain they’ve found their happily-ever-after, and then we’ll full-out celebrate with you all!! Stayed tuned!!"
