51 year old Brian Austin Green shared his recovery journey after emergency surgery for a perforated appendix. The star of "90210" thanked the medical staff at Providence Cedars-Sinai for their quick care. Green experienced severe stomach pain before being rushed to surgery, and now he’s recovering from his first major operation.
"They got me in right away, got me right into surgery," Green said. "The aftercare was phenomenal. When I tell you every single person who was there was incredibly kind and loving and supportive and helpful — I just want to send a shoutout to them."
"When you find great places with great people and they work really hard for you, they deserve a shoutout," Green said, adding that he was "on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first surgery — first major surgery."
A perforated appendix occurs when the appendix has developed a hole or rupture, resulting in infection throughout the abdominal cavity. A burst appendix could lead to serious complications, including sepsis and abscess formation.
